Joomla 1.6

Joomla 1.6 is about out of beta and promises to bring with it one of the features that previous versions of Joomla have been lacking the most...ACL!

ACL stands for Access Control Lists and basically allows for the Joomla Admin to create different levels of groups that a user can be associated with. Why is this important? The ACL allows for content to only be displayed to certain groups, thus allowing more control over what your users see and have access to. Have an education type site setup the new ACL system will allow for content to be seen only by student, only by staff, or seen by all.

I for one am very excited to step into 1.6 and test out these new features as it will only allow for more flexiblity to be given to the clients in the end.
